James Quentin Young
James Quentin Young was born on the “West Side” of St. Paul, Minnesota in 1936. He graduated from Humboldt High School and received his BS from Macalester College. He continued his education with an MFA in painting from the University of the Americas in Mexico City, Mexico.
He was an artist-in-residence at the Henry Luce Center in Washington, D.C., and in Prague, Czech Republic in 2009. He also taught in public schools for 32 years.
He and his wife currently live in Wisconsin and they travel nationally and internationally teaching and exhibiting his work. Young’s work has been collected nationally and it is in the collections of a variety of colleges, universities, and seminaries, in addition to many private collections.
