Mark Pederson

 

Mark Pederson is a painter working in gouache, pastel and acrylic.  His work has received recognition in numerous competitions and exhibits throughout the United States.  Recent shows include A Sense of Place at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, Wayzata, Minnesota and Art on the Plains at the Plains Art Museum, Fargo, North Dakota.  Mark has been a frequent participant and prize winning artist at the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition, earning first place honors in 1999 and 2002. In 2005, Mark was a recipient of the Central Minnesota Arts Board McKnight Individual Artist Award.

 

Mark is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in painting from the Louisiana State University.

 

Mark is an educator in the Elk River School District. He has taught at the Alief School District, Houston, Texas and is a former adjunct faculty member at St. Cloud State University and instructor at the Louisiana State University.

 

Mark lives in Elk River, Minnesota with his wife and 4 children, to whom he is grateful for their support and inspiration.
