Rose Edin

Rose Edin is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, where she has been awarded “Master” status.

She has loved to paint since given her first set of oils when she was 8 years of age. After painting with oils for a number of years she decided that watercolors offered more opportunity for expression and creativity. She focuses on design, value and color in her paintings. Her subjects come from all over the world. Some are painted on location and others are studio paintings. Color has become her mantra as she continues to use pure color and lets the color run together to create layers of pure color directly on the paper. Her intent is to draw the viewer into the painting with the light as well as with dramatic color.

Edin’s education includes: North Park University, Colorado State University Graduate Study and Minneapolis School of Art. When she decided to go into watercolor painting she was privileged to study in workshops with the finest instructors in the United States from coast to coast. She also has served as juror in many art showings. She and Dee Jepsen are authors of the book: “Color Harmonies – Paint Watercolors Filled With Light,” published by North Light.

Edin has been a popular teacher for over 40 years and is much in demand all over the United States. She also teaches widely in Europe, Central America and Africa. To add to her long list of awards over the years, she recently received the "Best of Show" award in the all media show in Venice, FL, where she currently lives.
