Charles Ziegler (1906-1999)

 

Charles Ziegler was born in Duluth, Minnesota on December 3, 1906.  He was a painter of still lives and portraits, but best known for his beautiful portrayals of Duluth landscapes. 

 

Ziegler worked primarily in oil, however, at times, he also worked in charcoal and watercolor.  He was active during the 1930s and 1940s. 

 

Ziegler studied with and shared a studio with the well-known Duluth artist David Ericson for eight years in the late 1930s and early 1940s. 

 

Charles Ziegler died in Duluth on December 21, 1999.
